How To Get A Great Psychic Reading

While researching and writing my book about intuition and highly gifted psychics and mediums, I’ve learned a lot about how to get the most effective, accurate reading when you consult an intuitive.  By following these five tips, you can improve your chances of having the best reading experience possible.

1. Prepare For The Reading In Advance.

Prior to the reading, make a list of the issues you want to touch on during the reading.  Start with the most important questions that you’d like to address.  But these questions are just for you — they will help you focus on what you want to cover.  It’s best if you keep the actual questions to yourself, until you learn what the psychic wants to share with you.  Some intuitives ask for specific questions at the end of the reading.  If the issue you’re interested in wasn’t discussed, you can bring it up now.

2. Calm Yourself Before Making The Call.

Many psychics and mediums meditate on their upcoming client prior to the reading itself.  It’s important that you do this as well.  If you’re scattered, nervous or distracted, that could have a negative effect on the reading.  It’s much easier for the intuitive to communicate with your guides if they have a pure, clean path to your energy, your higher self.  So take a few deep breaths and relax before getting the reading.

3. Don’t Rush To Judgement.

If something that the psychic or medium says doesn’t immediately make sense to you, don’t automatically discount the information as wrong.  Oftentimes, the intuitive is seeing something that hasn’t happened yet, or that you can’t relate to at the present time.  Just make note of what they say and look back at the reference in the coming months and years.

4. Take Notes And Tape Your Reading

Readings go by very fast, and I’ve learned that it’s important to tape a reading, if possible, or at least take notes and write down the most important revelations that the psychic or medium shares during a reading.  There have been many times that I listened to a tape of a reading or reviewed my notes at a future date and found that what I was told during the reading actually happened.  Keeping a record of your reading will enable you to confirm that the information was indeed accurate, and that you had a truly evidential reading.

5. Let The Intuitive Take The Lead — And Listen.

I’ve found that the best readings often take place when I’m quiet and say very little, at least at the beginning of the reading.  Let the intuitive share the impressions and information that they’re getting for you, without interjecting your thoughts or supplying a lot of unnecessary details.  This way, the information comes through in its most pure form.  If you tell your whole story, the reader may not be able to tune into your energy and get the answers that you need.

Most of all, when getting a reading, relax but pay attention to what the intuitive is saying.  If most of the information doesn’t make any sense to you, you’re either not connecting with the psychic or medium, or they may not be highly gifted.  Try to find intuitives through word-of-mouth referrals from trusted friends who had a good experience with the reader.  And be sure to recommend that psychic or medium to others down the road.  Finding a highly gifted intuitive is the best way to ensure that your reading will be accurate, informative and enjoyable.

  1. I think you make a great point about keeping a log of your readings so you can find out if they are accurate or not. This is probably one of the best ways to improve your intuitiveness and help your clients understand their issues. I’ll have to recommend your tips to a friend who is looking to get into psychic readings.

  2. I like how you suggest taking the time to take notes during your reading for afterwards. I’m thinking of seeing a psychic, but I haven’t ever been before. I’ll definitely take notes since I’m pretty forgetful.
